Introduction

Throughout life, many people have probably heard of Charles Manson thinking that he is ‘some guy that killed a bunch of people.’  What most do not realize is that Manson never physically killed anybody; he had other people commit these crimes for him.  He had these murders organized in order to initiate a race war that he called ‘Helter Skelter.’  ‘Helter Skelter,’ according to Manson, was foretold in Chapter 9 of the Book of Revelations in the Bible as well as the popular White Album released by the Beatles.  Why is that he needed to have people brutally murdered, and more importantly, why were the actual murderers even willing to kill for Manson?  In this blog, I will examine the life of Charles Manson leading up to his final trials.

Charles Manson Up For Parole

After the grueling trial process in the early 70s, Charles Manson was given the death sentence.  Due to a change in the law at that time, he was given the opportunity to live -- his new sentence, life in prison with a chance of parole.  Manson has come up for parole a few times since his original sentence, each time being denied.  He does come up for parole again in May of 2012.

Diane Sawyer Interviews Manson, Krenwickle, and Van Houten

Charles Manson had such a strong influence over his 'Family.'  In an interview with Diane Sawyer, two of the women who took part in the Tate- LaBianca murders talk about the family, and their role in these murders.
